About
Risografik.com is a project led by design students of the Zurich University of Arts ZHdK. Curated and mentored by Rebecca Morganti-Pfaffhauser and Daniela Mirabella.
We focus on experimenting with the RISO® printing technology—exploring factors such as colours, blends, screen techniques. The creations are based on found imagery, graphic elements related to print processes and production and reduced typography.
Risograph printing can be described as the fast-food brother of screen printing. Launched in 1986 by the Riso Kagaku Corporation in Japan, the machine prints with spot colours in a stencil printing process. It is considered as an environmentally friendly process—the soy-based ink is applied to the paper without heat and chemicals.
